The Pomegranate tree, called Rummiena (Punica Granatum), has been cultivated in the Maltese islands for several centuries. The fruit has long been associated with medical properties and for centuries it has been cherished for its exquisite flavour & colour. From their distinctive crown to their ruby red seeds, pomegranates are considered royalty amongst fruit.
